NCIAP Medical Care is a non-profit organization with a vision of providing basic and specialist health care services to the uninsured. Placed in two locations, Raleigh, and Apex, our volunteers comprise of doctors, service providers, nurses, front desk staff and the list goes on. It is run by the board of directors who meet on monthly basis to discuss the strategy and progress of the organization

Dr. Jindal completed his medical degree at Punjabi University India . Master of Ophthalmic Surgery, Mangalore University, India. Postdoctoral research fellow at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Postdoctoral clinical fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Diseases and Surgery at Southern Eye Associates in Raleigh, NC. Internship in Internal Medicine at New York Hospital Medical Center, Cornell University, NY and Ophthalmology Residency at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans, LA.
Dr. Jindal is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a Member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, Member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Member of the NC Medical Society, and NC Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Jindal, a skilled and compassionate surgeon, who has performed more than 15000 procedures, continues to pursue the latest technology. In addition to advanced- management of diseases of Retina-Vitreous- Macula with intra vitreal anti-Veg F, photodynamic treatments with visudyne, sutureless vitrectomies. He introduced multiple advanced eye procedures in Granville, Vance, Warren County areas. He served as Chief of Surgery at Granville Medical Center, Oxford, NC.
Dr. Jindal enjoys community service with his continued support to HSNC, TAHT Health Fair Committee Member, Pratham as BOD and while supporting Triangle Indian Physicians Society, took the lead to start a non profit medical clinic, NCIAP “Peoples” Medical Care, Inc, for the uninsured in Triangle area. Origin of this clinic was to help uninsured visitors especially parents, family members of the immigrants, but this is a service for all the community without any restriction- nationalities, income levels. This clinic started in April 2011 and has served more than 5000 patients so far.
His future goals are to establish same kind of clinics in all the counties, and provide a good network with multispecialty clinics.

He has an M.Sc. and an MBA degree in business. Besides being a management consultant, he is also an advisor for wealth management. He has a great involvement in local community work. Vandana P. Devalapalli M.D was born and raised in India. She graduated from Gandhi Medical College at Osmania University in 1982 and completed her Internship at Gandhi Hospital in 1983. She migrated to the US and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in 1992. Later she moved to Raleigh, NC to join her husband. She began her Medical career in Dunn, NC where she practiced for one year. She joined Kaiser Permanente in 1994 and remained there until they closed the North Carolina facility. Dr. Davalapalli went into private practice before joining WakeMed Faculty Physicians, then Duke Primary Care, Harps Mill, where she served as the Medical Director. Later she served as Medical Director of Rex Primary Care in Cary, NC.
Currently, Dr. Davalapalli is working as Medical Director at Blue Cross Blue Shield, NC. She earned her Fellowship from American College of Physicians in 2006 and her Masters in Clinical Leadership from Duke University in 2005. She was a recipient of the Circle of Quality Award at WakeMed in 2006. She has been recognized for Excellence in Diabetes care and Heart/Stroke by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. She has a passion for working with people and enjoys volunteering her services to the community. For the past several years she has organized the Health Fair, initially at Sri Venkateshwara Temple, and later with all the temples and Triangle Indian-American Physicians. She has played a vital role in many other events and programs throughout her community, currently doing her leadership program with North Carolina Medical Society.

Sangeeta Sawhney, MD is Executive Medical Director at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals and previously was Head of Medical Affairs at Pharmaceutical Product Development, a Clinical Research organization in RTP, NC. Dr. Sawhney is board certified in Internal Medicine and holds an active North Carolina license. Before transitioning to pharmaceutical medicine, she practiced clinical practice in NC including outpatient, nursing home and Hospitalist services at Cary WakeMed Hospital. Dr. Sawhney has provided volunteer physician services at NCIAP since it’s inception in 2011. She continues to volunteer as a Mentor for Medical students at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and other Health Fairs organized in the Triangle area. Dr. Sawhney graduated from the University of Miami Medical School with Honors and completed her residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center and University of Miami.
Dr. Sawhney’s areas of expertise include endocrine-metabolic diseases including diabetes management, cardiac disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and management of dementia.Dr. Sawhney is married to Gurjit Sawhney, an IT professional and they live in Chapel Hill, NC with their two children, Sumit and Rabina. Dr. Sawhney enjoys traveling, music, and reading.
